Textures.com is running on our backup server
What has happened?
Our main server had a harddisk array failure. We are recovering the disk array, but this could take several days. In the meantime our website is running on our backup server. Sadly, due to a misconfiguration our backup server is a full month out of date, and due to a bug in our backup software we were not alerted.
Update 15 January: the recovery is over 50% done. Our estimate is that we will have the full website back online this weekend (19 or 20 January 2019).
Update 17 January: the recovery is over 75% done but slowing down. We hope to have our main server back online on Monday 21 January.
Update 17 January: we have re-enabled free account registrations.
Update 18 January: Recovery is 80% done but the rate has slowed down even more.
Update 21 January: Recovery has slowed down to a pace where it will take at least another 7 days, most likely longer. With the database recovery taking such a long time (and with success not guaranteed), we decided that the better solution is to work from the current backup. We have already added credits for most missing premium purchases, and will start re-importing missing materials to the website tomorrow.
Update 22 January: The missing 3D Scans and PBR Materials have been added back to the website.
Update 25 January: Most missing accounts have been added back. We are working on adding back more missing data.
Update 1 Feb: All missing Premium purchases have been restored.
What if I've purchased a credit pack / subscription but I cannot login?
If you made a purchase between the 12th and the 26th December and cannot login: your purchase has already been applied to your account. If your password is incorrect please reset your password (using the 'Forgot Password' form on the login popup) or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are very sorry!
This is our first major downtime in over 10 years of service, and is caused by a truly perfect storm of problems. But this does not make us any less ashamed that this happened and we will take steps so it does not happen again.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and we are doing our very best to have the full website available as soon as possible.
